[Uwh-announce] 2022 Nationals and Monday night training

Two items for this email:


  1.  2022 NATIONALS POSTPONED

If you regularly hook into TUHA's Facebook site then you will already know, from President Chris's postings, that the 2022 National Championships have been postponed until July.
AUFQ, in consultation with UHA and AUF, have made the decision to delay the 2022 Australian National Championships until July 2022 (provisional dates 4-9th July).
The reasons for this decision are the following:

  *   Limited team registrations per division – (see current team table below);
  *   WA border restrictions have been extended and may not open until past the current comp date;
  *   COVID 19 - associated risk to the tournament should any team be taken out by the impacts of Covid or the rules around close contacts of a positive case.

AUFQ, UHA and the AUF hope that delaying the 2022 Australian National Championships until July will achieve the following:

  *   Facilitate WA state team inclusion across Divisions;
  *   Provide a more stable and understood tournament environment in consideration of COVID 19;
  *   Increase the likelihood of additional teams across Divisions (inter-State/overseas).

  1.  MONDAY NIGHT TRAINING

With the abovementioned postponement of the Nationals, our pool bookings have been scaled back. The only pre-Nationals training for both Seniors and Juniors (and 'get-wet opportunity' for any keen parents who wish give our sport a try!) and pre-pennant General Training (open to players of all grades), under a TUHA pool booking, will be on Monday nights, 7.30 - 8.30pm.

  1.  PLEASE REMEMBER that you must wait until the lane ropes have been removed before you can enter the water. Also, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you have exited the Aquatic Centre by 9pm, as otherwise we will potentially be charged additional pool hire fees.
