[Uwh-announce] Call-out for volunteers for the upcoming Nationals

Hi All,

Planning and preparations are well underway for us, TUHA, hosting the Australian National Underwater Hockey Championships here in Hobart during 3 – 8 April. We currently have at least 15 teams from Vic, NSW, SA, Qld and WA who have expressed intent of participation. Our Association has a long, strong history of being able to host well run national and international competitions, and one of the key elements in those successes has been our ability to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated team of volunteers.

The volunteer jobs for these Nationals will include:

  *   Ushers on the side entry door to the pool;
  *   Timekeepers/scorers (assisting the referees team);
  *   Assistants for camera operations and video streaming;
  *   Assistants for equipment, pool set-up and pack-up;
  *   Office helpers, fielding questions from teams, collating teamsheets, results etc.

Family members and friends of players in TUHA are very welcome as volunteers, but must be at least 15 years old. There is no upper age limit •

This is just an early call for volunteers and once we have our list of keen participants we will start developing the volunteers roster. Shifts are likely to be for 2 – 4 hours.
All volunteers will receive a complimentary competition t-shirt, as well as the warm, fuzzy glow that comes with helping to put on a great competition.

Note: Things COVID may intervene and bring about a further postponement of the Nationals, but at this stage we move forward on the assumption that the event will be able to go ahead as planned.
