[Uwh-announce] Team refereeing duties, and polite behaviour!

Hi Folks,
A few reminders.
1. If your team is listed as on ‘team refereeing duty’ then you are responsible for ensuring there are 3 water referees and 1 deck referee in attendance at the game. If one or more guild refs can make it, then you may find that you need to have less people, but YOU are responsible for having refs there in case they can’t attend for some reason!
* As noted on the roster, your team WILL have points deducted from their pennant total if three team referees are not present, or even if they are late.
2. PLEASE do not take your frustrations out on the referees!
* We have had several instances of referees being abused in the last couple of months, and it needs to stop.
* Our guild referees in particular are volunteers, and if this keeps up we won’t have any left soon. Have fun playing good underwater hockey if that happens.
3. Remember – ONLY the team captain is allowed talk to a referee, and even that MUST be polite.
All guild referees will be instructed to immediately give at least a 2 minute time penalty for comments from anyone other than the team captain which they deem are directed at them, and 5 minutes for ANY comments (including from Captains) which they deem are directed at them and which are less than absolutely polite.
* This includes the ‘polite but sarcastic’ comments that so many of you seem to think are warranted on a regular basis.
Thanks for your help in stopping the recent spate of bad behaviour!
Simon
