I am putting out expressions of interest from prospective referees interested in any and all of the following competitions. As you can see, there are quite a number of opportunities for new starters right through to highly experienced referees.
As per my previous EOI for the upcoming China cup, I will be looking for the following:
1. Current ranking. L1, L2, L3 and star (if known). For L2 and L3, I will need to know when you obtained that ranking as L3 now expires after 5 years.
2. Availability
3. Record of recent refereeing activity at club, state, national or international. This can be a general statement or a summary of events attended as a referee (preferred).
If you want to be considered, please list the competition/s you are interested in plus answers to the above questions.
The closing date for the SEA Games is 27/05/2019, FIRM. For all other competitions, 06/06/2019 but I am happy to receive late EOIs for these remaining competitions as deadlines are not as strict.
Kings Cup 8-9th June: https://nswunderwaterhockey.com/club-championships
Opportunity to participate in the first national comp. No set funding available.
 State Titles:
There is a plan to develop referees at State titles. Funding currently not available but watch this space. Please contact me for details.
 QLD http://aufq.org.au/underwater-hockey/events-calendar-uwh/
 WA (November).
SEA Games, Philippines: ********CLOSING DATE 27/05/2019********* 30th November to 11th December 2019 https://2019seagames.com/
I will require experienced referees with international experience, or international elite players who can demonstrate their ability to referee at this level. Preference for the first two spots will be given to referees who have previous experience as assessors at Worlds level.
New Zealand Secondary Schools Championship 5-8 September 2019 https://www.underwaterhockeynz.com/event-3086983
These championships are open to those who have some experience refereeing, and wish to further their long term refereeing. It is an ideal competition to use as a stepping stone to international level refereeing.
Australian Nationals Championship 19-24th January 2020: Open to all those who wish to further their refereeing career. A level 1 accreditation is preferable, as is previous refereeing experience at club level. All referees at this competition will be considered and assessed for the Worlds competition. Please contact me for clarification.
Worlds Elite and Masters Championships Australia, July 2020: I will require experienced referees with at least Level 2 accreditation, and/or previous international experience or international elite players who can demonstrate their ability to referee at this level. Previous refereeing at Nationals is highly desired, either as a playing or non playing referee. It is expected that anybody interested in this competition will referee at the Nationals in January 2020. There will be far more places available at this competition as it is located in Australia.
As per the list above, there are many opportunities at all levels of refereeing, If you are not sure but feel you want to be involved, I am more than happy to discuss! Please do not hesitate to call or email me. My mobile is 0427501890.
 Kind regards,
 Angus Sinclair
