Are you interested in joining a development group for UWH during our rebuilding phase, or continuing your volunteer involvement especially in the area of juniors?

Your involvement may be junior mentoring, promotion or just being part of our discussion group.

Over the last 12 months we have tried the following, and this will assist TUHA in planning for the future.

2018

1. Phone calls made to 90% of southern high schools to establish PE contact and email address.
2. $$$ spent on promotion of come and try night and UWH via colourful flyers
3. Flyers packaged and posted to schools.
4. Offers of promotional talks, free of charge, for high school students.
5. Masks, snorkels and gloves purchased. Fins and bats collected.
6. TV set up for parents and students on come and try nights showing excellent junior footage
7. Come and try sessions attended by approx. 38 students resulting in four teams taking part in a schools pennant
8. Collegiate UWH sessions run for grade 8 students at no charge. All equipment provided and tuition for 5 hours by TUHA.

2019

1. Phone calls made to again establish PE contact.
2. Promotional flyers sent to high schools to be delivered to home groups and displayed re come and try nights in Feb.
3. Come and try nights attended by only a handful of students.
4. Not enough students to run a schools roster.
5. Some students joining C grade.
6. New Banners developed by TUHA at both Clarence and Hobart to attract attention.
7. new website ready for deployment,
8. increase usage of social media
9.training manuals being authored as we speak.

A lot of hard work and generous commitment has been given from you all, but, not a huge increase in numbers.

SO, where to next?

With the professional assistance of Impress: clear communication Pty Ltd and a team of interested people from our UWH community, including the committee, TUHA are looking at ways to attract new players, increase junior and parent involvement and market TUHA in a new and effective way. Also, expanding our intake of new players to include grade 5/6 students in a modified version of our sport at CLARENCE POOL.

TUHA looks forward to hearing from you if you would like to offer your ideas or experience on Junior UWH Development for 2019 and beyond.

Don’t be shy and if you want to just email us with ideas we don’t mind either…..so come on…..this is your sport lets rebuild it.
