[Uwh-announce] Referees for Nationals - Please forward to all your clubs!

Hi All,

Just want to touch base to start planning for referees for Nationals.

Firstly, this year I will need to get some referees at Nationals to enable
selections for the Worlds in July 2017. Therefore there are a number of
referees that I will be directly inviting to continue planned ongoing
development over the last few years.

Secondly, for the last five years, we have been concentrating on supplying
non playing referees only, with a small number of playing referees only
being involved to complete Level 2 referee assessments. This year we will
be inviting any players who are interested on undertaking refereeing duties
as well as playing.

Could those interested please contact me no later than 8 weeks before the
start of Nationals. This is crucial as I need to know numbers to enable
planning. Notification of interest does not automatically mean you will be
refereeing. It will depend on a number of factors such as prior experience,
and which division the player is playing in as I will have a finite number
of places for various skill levels.

If any players want to do this, they will need to have completed at least a
Level 1 Referee course and have refereed 10 games at club level prior to
Nationals.

I will be running a Level 2 course on the Saturday the 7th January. It is
expected that any players who have not completed this course in the past
will need to attend so that they can be assessed during the competition.
