Thank you for your response, Tori.  

Underage drinking is not the subject of my concern.  It is the excessive consumption of alcohol cast as a “real good night” in the President’s message (to young and old), that is a discredit to the TUHA.  

Excessive alcohol consumption, as we all know, often leads to regrets and worse . . .    human tragedies.  It should not be condoned and certainly not upheld as a “real good anything” by responsible sports Associations and their Executive.

If TUHA wants to encourage younger members (and their parents) to attend functions and develop relationships with the older players, TUHA should consider whether those young members would/should want to witness the older players consuming alcohol to the extent described in the President’s message as a “real good night”.  

Last year’s Pennant Presentation Night WAS a success, and I thank you again for organising it, Tori.  Both Heather and I attended and enjoyed ourselves.  We look forward to the upcoming function at The Republic.
