Volunteers needed for Worlds 2017


Hello All,

As You may know, Hobart is hoping to host the 2017 Underwater Hockey,
Junior World Championships. This Is a significant sporting event. At the
Junior Worlds in Spain this year, There were teams representing 12
countries, and the championships increased the population of Castellon,
where the championships were held, by approximately 700 people for 3 weeks.
As I said, significant!

In order to hold this competition we will be relying on support and
volunteers from our local community.  We are looking for people with
experience and/or appropriate skills to assist the committee with the
following:

   - Financial controller- help with budget development, financial planning
   and reporting
   - Corporate Sponsorship
   - Local/State and Federal Sponsorship/Grants
   - Media –advertising/online marketing/promotion/liaison during the event.
   - Liaison person for sale of competition gear/other gear sales.
   - Add on tourism packages – linked to sponsorship or percentage


   - Logo design/signage/booklet production
   - Accommodation packages
   - Bus/Car Hire /Airport transfers
   - Development of Competition Package
   - Drug testing
   - Liaise with pool staff.
   - UWH Equipment
   - Venue Equipment-computers, PA, big screens


   - In water cameras
   - ICT – website design and management, streaming of the games, copying
   and distributing the games to the teams, facebook, Instagram and anything
   else you can think of.
   - Office manager – and assistants- Risk management/checking insurances
   /compliance, preparing the game sheets , collecting game sheets and
 entering
   data from games , updating the ladder and communicating any late changes to
   the teams .
   - Official photographers- taking official team photos and also snaps
   around the pool during the competition to be uploaded to facebook.
   - Organiser for the opening ceremony
   - Organiser for the finals – National anthems
   - Organiser for the closing ceremony
   - Organiser for the final party
   - Liaison person for dignitaries


   - Volunteers to be liaison person for each team once they arrive in
   Hobart
   - Set up help.
   - Onsite trouble shooter
   - Scorers
   - Marshalls
   - Sign bearers at Opening ceremony.


   - Medal carriers at closing ceremony.
   - Preparation of food for the referees each day


And all the other things we haven't thought of.


If you think you can help or you want to know more, we will be holding a
meeting at the Aquatic Centre on Monday Night 9/11, at 6.45pm. That's this
Monday.
