[Uwh-announce] Rule of the Week-Unsportsmanlike like Behaviour MK IV- oh, and the roster

Greetings All,

First up, Congratulations to those players returning from the recent Trans
Tasman in Wellington, New Zealand.

Here is the final roster for 2014 pennant 2.
If there are any questions, please get back to me ASAP. Once the pennant
starts, I won't be able to make any changes.

A Grade, each team will have one night playing two games. This is to make
sure the round robin is completed in the 14 weeks.

Please note, I made an assumption that the guild refs from last pennant
will be happy to continue with their outstanding work. Thank you in
advance! Remember though, you do need to sign the score sheet to be
eligible for payment. Please let me know if you are unable to continue and
I'll make necessary changes. On the flip side, if you're keen to become a
guild ref, let me know.

Now,

Unsportsmanlike Behaviour- What you ask, not more on that? Well yes, there
is always more on this topic. During the break I've had quite a bit of
feedback from players, refs and coaches about undue rough play and how
players are discouraged from continuing to play as they are tired of
getting physically smashed, week in week out.

I'd like to remind everybody that this is a mixed comp, both gender and
age. So if you are built like the proverbial brick whatsit, and you find
yourself facing off against an U15, don't plough through them like
skittles. All it does is reinforce an image of thuggery and its no fun for
those players left squashed in the wake. Our comp is a social comp, which
implies fun, and if it isn't fun, people stop playing. So be warned, the
guild refs have been worded up on what constitutes thuggery, and have my
blessing to give warnings and sin bin time if it continues beyond a warning.
