Selections for the Tasmanian Underwater Hockey teams will be held on
4 November and
11 November at
Hobart Aquatic Centre from 7pm.
We plan to take the following teams to the championships:

If you are planning to try out for any of these teams can you please fill in the attached form and email back to me.
You will also need to pay a deposit of $600 on or before 11 November. This will be refunded if you are not selected.
Travel Arrangements
Flights:
These are the flights I plan to book for the junior teams:
21 January
Depart Hobart VA 1531 to Syd 10:05 am
Depart Sydney VA523 Arrive Coolangatta 1:30pm
28 January
Depart Coolangatta 11:05am on VA518 to Syd
Depart Syd VA1534 Arrive Hobart 4:25
This will depend on cost and availability once selections have taken place. It may be cheaper to fly direct to Brisbane and drive to the Gold Coast.
Accommodation:
I have made a booking for 26 x 2 bedroom apartments at the Burleigh Beach Tower. This is the only hotel I could find that has room for
-the whole team (82 people plus some with family);
-is air conditioned;
-is within a 10 min drive of the competition venue and is no more than $61 per night per person.
Apartments cost $1285 for 7 nights.
Cost per person will depend on how many share each apartment-mostly this will be 3 players only due to the bed configurations(QB in main and 2 x SB in 2nd broom) Cost on this basis is $61 p.p. but will be cheaper if 4 share or a rollaway bed is used (see notes on budget)
The hotel is on the beach at Burleigh Heads, has a pool and other snazzy facilities. Can walk to shops and cafes etc.

Cars and Buses
We plan to hire 1 x mini bus and 1 x car per team for transportation, depending on team numbers. I have estimated 1 bus only for a Master's team of 10. 2 Buses and 1 car for the Elite women and men.

Cost Estimate

Attached is a cost estimate for all teams. I have assumed 12 players in a team, 10 for Masters.
Costs will depend a lot on airfares. Some players will already have a uniform and swimsuit from last Nationals which can be reused and the polo shirt reembroidered.
I will revise the budget for individuals once I know if you are booking your own airfares, already have uniforms and just want them re-embroidered, are prepared to share a QB with a complete stranger to save costs........
Payment will be required as follows:
11 Nov $600
6 December 50% of balance owing (approx. $700)
6 January Remaining 50% owing (approx. $700)
