G'day All,

Welcome to another week of in depth rules analysis (2m is probably as deep as it can get when you think about it......)

Well, this week is most definitely a week of reflection. As you all know, last week I put up our illustrious President as an example of what not to do.....

Oh, the irony. Yep, thanks to a technical foul (I'm sticking to that argument, more on arguing later) I got that minute to sit and ponder why it was we had 5 in water, and why that sucked for the rest of my team. So much for lead by example.

Now, to the foul itself. I was pinged (quite rightly) for barging. Actually, it was probably closer to a full high tackle in rugby terms, but I digress. The problem was that I actually thought it pertinent to chat to the referee about it (this is the argue bit, or not, in this case). Now I did so in the most polite way possible and was informed that I did indeed do the foul. So the next thing I did was take my own advice:

Regardless of what you think of the call, it's what it is. Live with it, and move on.

In this case, moving on involved getting poolside quick smart to get the penalty clock started.

There is only one benefit in arguing a call. A whole lot of players get riled because you are winding down the clock, they are getting cold, they are losing valuable hockey time, the ref is spending time trying to get you sorted out and point to where the puck needs to go, so that the ref placing the puck doesn't drown on the bottom waiting for instruction. Oh yes, I mentioned a benefit. Somebody will save dough by not shouting you a drink at the tennis club afterwards, because they'll still be peeved at you for wasting time.

So, have a great game, and enjoy the post-game beers up at the tennis club.
