Masters Women players.
Your chance to represent your country!

Selections for the Masters Ladies UWH team to travel to Hungary over the 19th August - 1st September will be re-opened.
Eligible players must be 32 years or older.
Selectors are looking to appoint the last two to three positions at the Training Camp on the 11/12th May in Hobart.
The team is already very strong with a core of ex-worlds players. They will be competing in a double round robin against approx. 5 other countries at this stage.
Expressions of interest can be emailed to player/coach Eden Brown (edenbrown63 at yahoo.com<mailto:edenbrown63 at yahoo.com>) or team manager Sandra (uwhmum at hotmail.com<mailto:uwhmum at hotmail.com>).
A nomination form must be filled in and a $500 deposit made (refundable on non-selection).

Thank you in advance.

Eden

AUSTRALIAN WOMENS MASTERS
SELECTION CRITERIA
Our aim is to develop a team that will be competitive at the 2013 Worlds.
Nominations are open to players who:
o Have paid their $500 Nomination Fee
o Are aged 32yrs and over as at 1st January 2013
o Have had previous experience competing in State Teams and National Teams
o Are of a reasonable level of fitness, have trained previously to a high standard
and are currently in a position to commit to serious training
o Have an understanding of the training requirements
o Can commit to a weekend training camp in NSW before the competition
(The third point is preferable however consideration will be given to all nominations.)
Training
o Players will be required to be ready to reach a level of fitness suitable for this
competition and at the same time remain in good health.
o Players must be willing to undertake advice with regards to their selection of
workouts.
o Players must prioritise access to a minimum of 1 UWH game per week.
o Players must have an extensive understanding of the game, strategy and
teamwork required.
o Players must have an understanding of the individual skills they need to work
on, be able to work on new skills and be open to increasing their current
repertoire.
As playing coach, I will be insisting that all members arrive fit, motivated and willing
to work as part of a team. It is intended that selection of no less than 10 players will
be held at the end of the 2013 Nationals.
The Women's Masters Category is in its beginner stage; the last chance to compete in
this category was seven years ago in Sheffield. There are no guarantees that an
opportunity will arise in the future where experienced, dedicated players can compete
at a World Titles. There are currently four confirmed countries in the round robin
however this is expected to increase. In all likelihood the competition would entail 8
games plus finals. And of course...a gold medal.
Please email or call me if you would like to discuss the selection criteria further.
Yours sincerely,
Eden Brown
