[Uwh-announce] Monday Musings - State Team Coaches, Pool Entry, Guild Refereeing, Gear discounts

Hi All,

 

A number of items this week.  Please read below:

 

*         We have yet to receive nominations for the State Team Master's
coach and Men's coach (although rumour has it that Nick Martyn may be
willing to do this again?).  If you are interested in either of these
positions, please contact Mark Lewis.  We need the coaches appointed
very soon so that we can organise state team training space at the pool
and book dates for selections.

*         Nick and Marty are seeking nominations for Guild Referees.  It
is proposed that we will appoint one Guild Ref to each game on a
Wednesday night, with preference to C and B grades if numbers are short.
The association will be reimbursing Guild Refs for each game.  If you
would like to be a Guild Ref please contact Nick or Marty ASAP.  We
would like to get this started very soon.

*         As has been mentioned in the past, there have been a small
minority of players using their Aquatic/Gym membership to use the pool
on UWH nights. Please be aware that this is in effect stealing from the
Association and the committee takes a very dim view of this behaviour.
Persons caught doing this risk a 1 month suspension for a first offence
followed by a pennant suspension for the 2nd.

*         On a related matter, the association will be looking to raise
the pool entry fee to cover pool hire costs. (We are running at a loss
with respect to pool hire.)  More information will be sent out regarding
this shortly.

*         Southern Tasmanian Divers is offering a 10% discount to all
TUHA members.  Please tell them you are a member when purchasing gear
for your discount.  They are also looking to stock UWH specific gear for
us, so please support them.
