Hi All,
We have recently been advised by the Aquatic Centre that several players have been by-passing the Reception Desk and have been using their Aquatic Centre Membership passes to enter the Centre on underwater hockey nights (i.e. Mons and Weds), thereby avoiding payment of the $6 entry fee that should be paid by all our members. Members of our Committee have also observed this happening. We have previously sent out reminder notices about the fact that this practice must stop, but it is obvious there are some who prefer to continue to ignore our request.
The pool entry fees are collected for a very good reason. Those $$ all go towards covering the pool hire charges (approx. $230/hr). Players avoiding these entry payments may be doing their pockets a favor but they are doing absolutely no favors for our Association and for fellow members. The more we struggle to cover the pool-hire charges, the more likely it is we will have to increase pool entry fees. In an ideal world, yes, we would have no entry fee, but that is just not possible if you want to continue playing our great sport at this high quality venue.
So, this is yet another plea to those players ……PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE TO AVOID PAYMENT OF THE UWHOCKEY POOL ENTRY FEE!!
If you do continue this practice, we will be forced to impose a penalty which could include suspension for the remainder of this season and perhaps longer, and possibly fines. Rest assured, we will continue to monitor the situation.
Craig
