[Uwh-announce] MONDAY MURMURS 11 April

Hi All,

 As it is most often a Monday morning on which I send out 'packages' of information regarding things in and around our life in underwater hockey, I'm coining the title "Monday Murmurs".......I can't think of anything better but am open to suggestions.

So, today's MONDAY MURMURS:

1. Steve Cleary has resigned as TUHA Development Officer due to increased work and family commitments.  On behalf of everyone in TUHA, I thank Steve for his time on the TUHA Committee this past couple of years, both as Development Officer during 2010/2011 and as General Committee Member during 2009/2010.  This period adds to Steve's hard work during other roles on earlier TUHA Committees and in demanding coaching roles for our State Teams.  THANKS Steve, we greatly appreciate all the time and effort you have put in over many, many years !! So, with Steve's departure from this position, we now have a vacancy which we will aim to fill at the TUHA AGM in July (date to be announced soon).

2.  Underwater Hockey Australia is still seeking responses to the proposal to trial a Juniors Nationals (i.e. separate to Seniors Nationals) in 2012.  This proposal has been up on the UHA webiste (www.underwaterhockeyaustralia.org.au)  for a few weeks now. I have attached a copy of this proposal and encourage all those with interests in the structure of Nationals and International championships for Juniors to give it a read and to put your thoughts about the proposal down in writing.  We will be sending UHA a collated Tassie State response (but including as attachment copies of all individual responses), so if you do wish to make comments, please have those to me by Mon 18th April. 

3. Ben Coombe has ended up with someone else's uwhockey gear after last Wed night and it appears that someone else picked up his gear by mistake.  Ben's missing gear are "ALA fins with hard insert inner-soles, fin savers tucked in 1 fin & lycra socks with neoprene uppers in the other fin".  The gear Ben  picked up in return was "another set of ALA's, a reef mask with solid head strapping & green & yellow tape on the cut down snorkel".  Please everyone check your gear and make sure you've got the right set !  Ben's email address: h2oben at hotmail.com
