Hi All,
Your Pesky President with several IMPORTANT things:
1. Thanks to Crabs members, Andy Maver and Bruce Maher, for alerting us to some problems in the roster. There were some anomalies for weeks 13 & 14 that had not been picked up in earlier checks on the roster. I have attached a revised version. ALL CAPTAINS, please check through all the remaining weeks on this roster (vers 1.5) and tell us if you see anything that doesn't look right. The revisions primarily affect B Grade and A Grade, bit all C Grade Capts should check too.
And we haven't forgotten about the issue of some Recruit players not being able to play their Recruit games because of the way the roster has been structured. We are still looking into what we can do on that front.
2. Also, ALL CAPTAINS, can you please look through the Teamlist file that is attached and tell me if the list shown for your team matches with reality. We know there have been several player movements during the first 5 weeks of the pennant and this file represents the lists as best we know them. We would like to have the teamlists up to date as that is what will appear on your teamsheets each week.
3. Schools Pennant comp starts this evening after a couple of great Try-Out nights and it is VERY IMPORTANT that all 3 courts are available for Schools games until 8.30pm. So, can all non Schools players (i.e. those going along for General Training) please not enter the water until the Schools games have finished, unless you are helping run the Schools comp of course.
4. Deck refs and scorers, can you please make sure you fill-out the teamsheets correctly. We have been noticing a lot of things missing (e.g. names of refs, final goal tallies for each team) and a lot of things in wrong place (e.g. Best and Fairest votes put down in Paper Votes column and vice versa). These teamsheets are pretty straightforward and even come with a list of instructions for deck refs/scorers, so there is no excuse for an incomplete or badly completed sheet.
5. If you are helping with pack-up on Mon or Wed nights, please do leave the pucks&bolts box (i.e. the small wooden box) or the blue plastic bin that contains the wall joiners on the walls and goals trolley. Those boxes need to go into our cage (i.e. the lock-up area).
6. Similarly, on pack-up can the 'deck ref sounder devices' (i.e. those cool looking devices you hang around your neck as deck ref ) please be placed into the upper shelf of the timing trolley and not be left hanging around the scoring stands. Whoever is putting the timing trolley away into the cage should check that all three of those devices are there at the end of the night.
Many thanks to all who have been pitching in with set-up and pack-up each week. It's so good to see a feast of helpers.
Craig
