----------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday Night Training & State Team Training
Training session is 7.30 - 8.30pm for tonight and for next Mon (13th).
In our current pool bookings we have State teams training to commence in the week beginning 20th Sept. However, given the later date of Nationals 2011 (see below), the commencement of State training requires some discussion by the TUHA Committee. We have a Committee meeting tomorrow night, so there should be an announcement on the State training and the seeking of nominations for State team selectors and coaches very soon.

Invitation from Qld Underwater Hockey
Queensland Underwater Hockey have sent out an invitation for teams/players to participate in their State titles on Sat 23rd October. See the attached invite. If you are interested, let me know and I will send you the registration forms.

Update on Nationals 2011
Underwater Hockey Australia has confirmed that the Nationals 2011 will be held at the Tuggeranong pool in Canberra on the March long weekend (i.e. including 12th & 13th March). ACT Underwater Hockey, who are hosting the event, are still to confirm the full suite of dates. It is not yet clear whether the comp will include the Mon 14th or will start earlier and finish on the 13th or even the 12th.
Stay tuned ! Hopefully there will be an announcement from them very soon.

Femmes and U15s
As you know, in this current pennant we have a "Femmes" team playing in B Grade and an "U15s" team playing in C Grade. Both these teams were included in the pennant structure to bring the number of teams in those grades up to an even number and remove the need for byes. These are composite teams that are 'made up' on the night with whoever in Femmes and U15s ranks are available, and players are drawn from a mix of grades. At the beginning of the pennant, we (the Committee) should have explained the following to all players and not just to the team Capts at the Capts meetings, and I apologise for only doing this now:
If your team is down to play the Femmes or U15s, so long as your team turns up and plays, your team will be awarded 4 points for a win (and a scoreline of 5 - 0 for computation of the ladder), regardless of the outcome of the game. Best and Fairest votes are not awarded for these games, only Paper votes (for the Mercury). In all other aspects these games should be treated as normal roster games.

Craig
