[Uwh-announce] AGM - Tomorrow night

Hi All,

Firstly, I apologise for the late send out of this notice.  The attached documents should ideally have been circulated to you earlier.  I have very recently returned from an overseas trip for work so I'll use that as my pathetic excuse.

REMINDER - We will be holding a 'rerun' of the AGM for 2010 tomorrow night at 7.51pm at the pool, during a half-hour break in games.   This rerun is necessary only because we failed to get a quorum at the AGM we tried to hold back in June.   Please, please (hear me beggin') make an effort to be there for this meeting, even if your game is much later in the night. We only have half an hour and we will try to keep it shorter than that, but hopefully there will be opportunity for some discussion if you have things you would like to raise.  As soon as the first games are completed, or preferably before that time if you are not playing or reffing in those games, it would be good if you could gather in the grandstand, in the two blocks of seats closest to the changerooms.  We will have a PA system, and we may have to compete with the Aqua Aerobics (in dive pool) PA for the first 10mins - they finish at 8pm.

At some point in the proceedings we would like to hold a minute of silence and reflection for Rodney Howell. If Aqua Aerobics is still running at the beginning, that will obviously not be the appropriate time.

I have attached the minutes from the 2009 AGM,  Colin Hepher's Treasurer's Report (prepared fro the AGM in June), and my President's Report for the past 13 months.

The proposed agenda for tomorrow night:

1. Acceptance of Minutes of last year's AGM
2. Acceptance of Treasurer's Report for 2009
3. Acceptance of President's Report (given the limited time available you will be spared me reading out the report)
4. Ratification of President's car and salary package
5. Election of Office Bearers:
President
Vice-President
Secretary
Chief Referee
Treasurer
Media Officer
Equipment Officer
Social Director
Development Officer
Junior Development Officer
Newsletter Editor
General Committee #1
General Committee #2


With regards to Election of Office Bearers, we have received nominations for many of the positions, but not all. And even though we do have nominations for some, that should not stop you nominating for those positions.  Having to go to an election/vote is a sign of a healthy Association !!  And there is always the option of having an elected Committee member with officially recognised assistants.

Two of the positions for which we currently have no nominations are Chief Referee and Development Officer.  Both these positions are critically important to the running and successful future of the Association.  Other members on the Committee will be committed to providing assistance to those taking on these positions.  Please give it some thought !!!!
