
<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></head><body><div><div style="font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">Hi all,<br>It has come to my attention that there were a couple of incidents last week where unacceptable language was used.<br>This isn't on. At all.<br>As part of promoting underwater hockey as a fun sport, it makes it difficult with profanities being thrown out at volume.<br>So two things:<br>If a referee hears unacceptable language feel free to deal with it under the unsportsman like behaviour rule and sin bin them. If its in response to a call where a time penalty has been given, add more time to the sin bin. <br>We have tried the softly softly approach, but would appear that this isn't working.<br>So lets see how we go with this approach.<br>I urge the referees use discretion, and most people have a clear idea of what isn't acceptable.<br>Bottom line, players are on notice for use of offensive and foul language. Do zo, and get cold for a couple of minutes on the side of the pool.<br><br>As always, regardless of what you think of the call, live with it and move on.<br><br>Angus<br>Chief ref, TUHA</div></div></body></html>
